Klippel–Trenaunay Syndrome: An Often Overlooked Risk Factor for Venous Thromboembolic Disease.
Klippel–Trenaunay syndrome (KTS) is a congenital disorder characterized by the combination of vascular abnormalities and abnormal soft tissue or skeletal growth, such as hypertrophy or hypotrophy on the same or opposite sides of the body. Dr. Rai and his colleagues presented a case study of a male unrecognized crossed dissociated form of KTS and unsuspected VTE (venous thromboembolism). In the paper, they discussed the pathophysiology and the treatment of VTE in KTS.
